…was harder than I thought it would be. Who knew you could get so attached to a gym (well, the people there actually).
Last summer we decided we wanted to join a gym so we looked up some names online that were semi-close to our house. We stumbled upon Healthworx during this search and loved it. It’s actually the gym associated with Central Baptist Hospital and many of the members are hospital employees but it’s open to the public, too. I’ll just say I couldn’t be happier. They have everything I need as far as classes and equipment go. The employees are fantastic and make you feel so welcome. And the gym is small enough that you feel like you know most of the people there, including other members.
Tuesday night was my last cardio & strength class and yesterday morning was my last spin class and that was so sad. Those classes have become as much a part of my life as going to work or church. Diane and Jon, as well as the other trainers and instructors there, challenged me to push myself and become better and stronger. I looked forward to going and loved how I felt afterward and the people in those classes became my friends. It’s so funny how you may not even know someone’s last name, but when you let them see you at your sweaty, no-makeup worst you form a bond.
So gym class buddies, if you’re reading this – I’m going to miss you! Thanks for making me feel welcome and caring about me and my life. You guys rock.
Ironically this post is being written while eating the best donuts in the world, which I think defeats the purpose of all the hard work….stay tuned for a post about that later.
